    unknown KC officer

    Hi,

I recently acquired this officers photo. Could someone identify him for me? Also, what grade of close combat badge is he wearing?

Great image! I love the modified EMs felfbluse! Cannot comment on who it is but IMO the CCC looks bronze.

          Hi Chris,

Thanks, I think it's a great image too. I thought the CCC was the Bronze grade too.

          Hi George,

I don't see the name Josef Rhein on the image. Where do you see a name?

There is no name on the picture. The other message just let you know that the person visible in the picture is none other than Josef Rhein.

Hi thanks for clearing that up. I didn't understand what the other forum member meant. Do you know anything about Josef Rhein?

Here is another photo of him which states that he was part of Grenadier-Regiment 530:

Yes that looks like him. Thanks for giving the dates of some of his other awards and for telling me his division. I found out his birth and death dates, as well as what happened to him after the war. He made it to Oberst in the Bundeswehr, by the time he retired in 1975. He died in 2005.
