I just picked this up at the OVMS show this afternoon and just gave it a quick glance and bought it. Now that I am studying it, I am worried it's bad. It is named to 11/Gren rgt 96 but the unit stamp says Gen Kdo 117 A.R. , the paper is old and has wear but I am concerned about the stamp not matching the regiment. Any thoughts?

I think you're right to be concerned but i believe you'll find that the stamp is a Korps one. ie. AK for armeekorps. the numerals will be roman II or IX or something like that. In any case it doesn't match with being signed by a regimental commander.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Moreover, G.R.96 belonged the 32.I.D., on the date of 14.Nov.1944 heavily engaged by Ergli. The 32.I.D. (with 122 and 126.I.D.) was at this Time submitted to L.A.K., part of the 18.Armee.
Don't match at all with your Stamp...
Producing Fake - Awards sometimes seems to be easy, but in reality it's much more complicated than Fakers think. Unit, Stamps and Signatures have to match the historical Facts.
