Elswhere on the forum there is a discussion of DKiG in wear mounted below the pocket as your photo shows, are the loops for the cross indeed where you have it in the photo or is it only laying on the tunic for display? here is a link to the other thread. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=550593
      Many thanks for your reply!

Many thanks to you all for these enthusiastic Comments. I want first Answer my Friend Weisner : You'are right, the Loops are here quite low on the Tunic, they are all originals, probably made by the Taylor himself. Photos thereafter. As I collect DK's for years , I can confirm that this Award was often worn very low on the Tunic, there are a lot of Portraits confirming it, it is very common. In this case, even ISA and WBG are worn just over the Belt !! </P></P></P>

Now for "Panzerelite" : All Awards are those from the Veteran. The German Cross is a classical "1" (Deschler München, 4 Nieten) which shows some Wear as most of us are appreciating (not good enough for a "mint-Collector" !!) unfortunately repaired on the back Side. Here are the Pics : </P></P></P>

Hi Kev. 2 more Pics for you illustrating the low Wear adopted by some German Cross Winner, sometimes below the Breast Pocket. There after, Hauptmann Kurt Breuckmann (Art.Rgt.7) and Hauptmann Georg Mensing (G.R.284) : </P></P>

                        Outstanding!

Thank you 708.V.G.D. for sharing another fantastic grouping! Especially one from a veteran that served in one of my most favorite Divisions, Unser 16er!
Really neat to see him wearing the Sturmartillerie wrap in his Soldbuch photo. This was a very popular garment from 43 on in the 16. Panzer-Division.
                        Best regards,
                        Mike

Thank you Guys. Especially for Michael and Steve, "fans" from 16.Pz.Div., a closer View from H.K. Signature on a "Wehrmacht Führerschein" from one of his NCO's (also awarded DK...), an a nice Pic from H.K. before Unit-Inspection in Cerigula (Italy), note the Men are wearing tropical Helmets. </P></P>
