Grouping Major 16.Pz.Div. German Cross Soldbuch / Tunic / Doc's !

Hi there ! Perhaps not as rare as the previous Grouping I shown, but it is again a great Pleasure to share this one with you all. Major H.K. led the II./Pz.Gren.Rgt.79 (16.Panzer.Div.) as he was awarded with the German Cross on Dec.19th 1943. Like almost all Groups I own, this one was not purchased but was given to me by the Veteran himself. We met 4 times, had long Discussions together where he gave me a lot of Details about his military Carreer during the War. He fought in France, Russia, Italy, was 4 times "slightly" WIA and was badly wounded east of Bobruisk on Dec.24th 1943. He spent all the Year 1944 in "Lazarett" and didn't go back to the Front after it. I will always remember his incredible sense of Humor... he was physically top fit until his Death in 2000. For me, the better points in this Group are : the "Field-Green" colour of his Shoulder Sleeves and collar device (allowed for "Panzergrenadierregimenter" in July 1942).... the second point is the great Photo in his Soldbuch, German Cross in Wear and Feldgrau Wrap often worn by Pz.Gren. Officers... The bad points are : The last 2 Awards Documents (German Cross and Wound Badge in Gold) are missing... and the tunic, who displays very well, shows heavy Mothing on the inside collar and on the Brest Eagle... I have taken quite a lot of Pics from this Group and will add them gradually, and of course on request, If you want to see anything particular. I hope you appreciate it, your Comments are welcome !

Its even better that you´ve talked with the veteran himself

As I told you, a closer View of the Tunic shows important mothing damages on two spots of this Tunic, and it must be shown too. Of course, I have taken all necessary measures to avoid more damages... Otherwise, the Tunic is almost in mint condition :

Looks like he was very well decorated from the France 1940 Campaign.

Another excellent group. Thanks for sharing.

You must be a smooth talker! It's always a nice feeling when a veteran likes you so much that he gives you some treasured possession.

You've got some great items in your collection. It's nice to have someone new on the forum who is simply interested in showing their great collection.
