    Scott & Simon,

Thanks and it's my pleasure to make these available to those who are interested in viewing them. Everyone knows it was rather bloody that first day on the beaches of Normandy. The Commanding Officer of the 165th Captain Herman V. Hall lost a leg on the beachhead and when evacuated he took the units negatives with him to be delivered and developed...He received the Distinguised Service Cross for his courage and efforts. I have 8 more negatives I would like to share with you if Scott would be kind enough to reverse them for me. Bill

                    Scott,

Thanks for reversing those negatives and posting them on this thread. Sorry about the size of the pics...now you can't read the citation and the time magazine extract talking about the contribution of the Army Photographer units. There is another shot of SGT Irving on the Beach, Panaramic view of the Beach landing area, prayer service in Normandy, the victory march in Paris and the last photo is the link up of the US and Russian forces on the Elbe River near Torgau.
                    Thanks for viewing. Bill
