Could you help me (if it is possible) to identify this hauptmann?
• EK2 during WW1, meaning he was born 1902 or earlier;
• Spange EK2, EK1 and KVK2 with swords, meaning he saw a mix of combat service and office duties during WW2;
• Can't see an Infantry Assault Badge but I suppose it could be out of shot;
• Ostfront Medaille, so the photo was taken last quarter of 1942 or later, meaning he survived the fighting on the Ostfront during 1941 and most of 1942
• Piping colour: he's definitely wearing the green of "Jäger" but Regiment 54 was only renamed from an Inf.Rgt. to a Jäger regiment on 6 July 1942.
If someone else identifies some of the other medals, there may be a way to pin down the identity of this guy.
Can you read the photographer's imprint? This may have a town name. Also, are there any clues on the back?

Right, this is exactly why i asked.
all that tells you is that he belongs to a unit numbered 54 and you can see that he doesn't have infantry white or pionier black.
Because of this officer's rank and age i'm in doubt whether he is from Jäger Rgt.54 though he could be. We can't see his right sleeve so can't see if he has oakleaves or an edelweiss.
It could also be Artillerie rgt. 54, Gebirgs division nachschubtruppen 54, Gebirgs Träger Btl.54, Nachrichten abteilung 54
perhaps even beobachtungs abteilung 54 or werfer rgt.54Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
