      Police

Yes, I have seen a photo of this event before the gunfire started.

Certainly police uniforms. Several helmets with different colors. Couple of guys in front do not appear to be uncaring.

Of course it is easy to say "Can be partisan" - as with that answer the case is closed.

They sweep the blood out of the yard and rearrange the gravel.

                  Hello to all...
I can confirm that this photo is about an execution of partisan at Celje, in Slovenia. The photo in on a website about italian and german war crimes in the area. You can visit the site here:

I apologize if I not specify that the link contained cruel images. This is because I do not have perfect knowledge of English language.
                      I'm sorry again

As usual with these types of threads, they generate emotional responses, speculation, those with agendas to push and we degenerate into arguments and personal insults.

Keep it clean please guys or the thread gets locked.

Yes, thanks Simon for bringing us all back to neutral ground. But, certain things cannot be overlooked, or remain un-responded to. Just as we all have to respond to folks who question our collections, we also have to respond to those who are still fighting WW2 by being apologists for those who initiated it. We cannot forget the devastation and suffering connected to the items we collect, or the guilt of those who were most responsible for that devastation and suffering. You cannot collect an item and then ignore the dark side of it's background. It would be irresponsible and do a great diservice to those who died at the hands of those who created and used those items.
