    Feldpost collection

    Afternoon gents.
I recently obtained a load of feldpost letters. I had thought that the letters were a mixed bag from various sources, but Iwas pleased to find that they are all attributed to one Obergefreiter.
The first letter is dated 9th October 1941, and he has written Afrika on the top of the letter. Its feldpost number is 29073.
He also has Feldpost number 28770 on a letter written in Lybien (Libya? - how topical!)
There is nothing from 2th October 1942 until 21st January 1944. These Feldpost letter are all either 37828 or 36896. with one notable exception. On the 11th August 1944 the letter is from 59796. The checking i have done seems to indicate that this is Gruppe Chefarzt 11/1 Lazarett Kreigslazarett-abteilung 528R.
I assume that the chap seems to have been wounded at some point.
The last letter is dated 28th december 1944.
Plenty of stuff to get my teeth into.
His writing is pretty decent, but my German is less so, and I need to establish his surname before I can do anything else.

If you could sent us some pics it would be helpful to find out his surname.

      Hi Gerdan,
now I remember having trouble uploading pics beforehand.
Am I right in thinking that I need to upload them onto imageshack or something similar, and then attach the links?

The first owner was a dealer for second hand items.
He has the Feldpost divided into many parts.
In a letter in another part of the scribe told the ceremony of armored combat badges at 25.

here's a link to a few of the images.
I really need to brush up on my German, as this is a facinating area.

Thanks Sammlerherz. I for one, am glad he decided to sell these.

I think his name was Adolf Tesch from Alt-Hüttendorf, Angermünde Land.

I found one Adolf Tesch in the Volksbund list (he is the only Tesch in the list):

              Nachname: Tesch
              Vorname: Adolf Vollrat Karl Hans
              Dienstgrad: Unteroffizier
              Geburtsdatum: 08.07.1909
              Geburtsort: Neubrandenburg
              Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 22.10.1945
              Todes-/Vermisstenort: Lag. 7299/4 in Feodosija/Krim

But I cannot say if he is your guy.

only the feldpost stamps themselves I guess.
I am having trouble finding the information on one of the numbers. It is 29073. The letters inside all have Afrika on the top of the page along with teh date. The first being 9th October 1941.
Gerdan managed to decipher the surname, which I would never have guessed to be honest.
I can upload more of the pictures if you are interested.
                    Andy

just realised that if this is indeed the same man, he died on this very day in 1945.
