            RK document

            Hello Joe,
Can you post some photos of the overall document and case? Looking at the closeups of the calligraphy, it looks pretty well done but not quite as neatly as others I've seen. Mine is early as well--1941--and I don't know whether or not there was a slight change in style. I believe there are differences between the early examples and the later ones, but I don't have a later example to compare. If this document is a hand done example, it's very interesting.
What does the case look like, overall?

                Hi
That should be one of these soldiers :
                ALLMENDINGER

                BAYER

                BUCK

                KEINER

                KIRN

                LASCH

                SCHRANK

                SCHURY

Kirn, being the sole posthumous award. It is impossible to say one among these rather than another one without any more info
At least, we know this mappe belonged to a Heer member

Bill's mappe belonged to one of these soldiers :
                ABRAHAM

                ANTRUP

                BAHNS

                BARTELS

                CIPA

                DURCHDENWALD

                MIRAU

                OTTE

                VĂ–LKEL

                WEISSENBERGER

                WOLFRAM

So Bill, did the recipient belong to the Luftwaffe ?
