    Knight Cross Winner Document

    Hello Gentlemen,

What I have here is a RK winner's award document that I could use some coaching on, if you please.

The presentation case looks more like a promotional document case rather than an RK case

The award itself has been cut in half, missing the cover, as well as folded. I cannot reveal the name until the deal is closed. Does everything else add up. Wish I could say I could say that I handled many of these to know for sure. I would really appriciate any help.

Also what would you value the set for or sold as seperate pieces.

Also the color is a bit off that is the lighting.

    Looking forward to your help,

    Cordially Yours,
    JD

Joe, it (could) be the pics BUT at this level I'd look for much more detail and clarity especially in the Mappe eagle amd maker's name.

Print material today is SO easy to replicate one must look for 'style', 'materials' used etc.!

A major question is 'why' would the doc be cut down when the folder seems to be intact?

                Dave
                Regards,
                Dave

                  Hi Dave,

The doc was cut down, your never going to beleive this horrible thing, but the original owner cut it down so it would fit in the promotional case.He had aquired them at different period of time. What a bonehead, but this is what is left of it.The pics do not do the piece justice as I was in a hurry.I will re-shoot the piece as time permits.

                  Thank you kindly,
                  JD

Joe, I don't envy your position! Only you have them in hand and I know the thrill of 'finding' something truely rare...stay objective!

From the pictures provided Joe, I don't like it. Based on the creases I can see on the award, the paper doesn't look like real parchment. Also the mappe doesn't look right as I am missing the golden band at the rim on the inside.

                        Just my opinion.

Just noticed. The eagle on the mappe is also different to the ones I have seen before.

                            Hi Joe

I have the same opinion as Pascal, something about it I just don't like it.

                              Hello Joe,
It's really hard to tell from these photos--do you mean the original recipient cut it down, or the prior collector/owner?
I look forward to seeing the additional photos.
