    SS photos with questions

    Hello mates,

here I have some SS photos with questions - I don't collect SS so I need some help.
Can you tell me something about the units and so on?

    Thanks and regards,
    Sven.

No expert, but the top photo shows an NCO and member of the black uniformed Algemeine -SS (man in the middle) photo taken after 1936 (he has a large eagle on his cap) The two other men are perhaps members of some other para-military unit, maybe the NSKK...
The two other photos shows the same guy from the first photo, now as a member of the Waffen-SS, most likely at the front in Russia in 1942 or 43 since the men are wearing the winter parkas manufactured especially for W-SS units in 1942.

I agree w/ johnny about the NCO in the middle. The badge on the odd visor cap on the left looks like some type of an NSFK/DLV badge maybe? (the cap almost looks like a Vet-organisation visor). The man on the right seems to have an early SS/SA cap eagle on a non-issue, maybe civi cap. (just my very humble guesses)! Neat photos!

Regarding units it is unfortunately not possible to see any unit-specific insignia, like cuff titles or collar patches. The "SS" runes on the collar patches would probably rule out the Totenkopf and Polizei Divisions since troops from these unit usually wore special collar patches. Given the possible timeframe of 1942-43 the men in the photos could have belonged to any of the other "classic" Waffen-SS division: Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler, Das Reich, Wiking, Prinz Eugen or Florian Geyer

first photo from the left ; Deustche Reichsbahn , Allgemaine SS, early SS or NSKK. Two lower photos; Waffen SS soldiers in mid to late war period.
