Sepp Dietrich photo with postwar signature on EStand

    Fellow forum members,

I am buying this photo just posted on the EStand, but would like
to here opinions especially on the postwar "Sepp Dietrich" signature:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=543472

Besides the signature the photo also bears two times the number "39",
    which is quite strange imo.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks and regards,
    Markus

Isn't the photo post-war due to the line above the Agfa logo? (Seller claims that the photo is wartime)

Hm, here a link I found about "Agfa Brovira" photo paper logos.

        http://lwcollectibles.blogspot.com/2...hotopaper.html

According to this chart the photo paper would be postwar....

IMO that is not an original Dietrich signature.

                  Thanks!

But are you sure you are looking at it from a post-war perspective?

Wartime signatures are way different. I agree, but this is Post-war, less
commonly seen on the market btw.

                  Cheers,
                  mlc

Don't have my archive immediately available but at a quick glance the signature looks ok.

                          Hi Markus,

No, I am not looking at it from a post-war perspective because the first post made no mention of it being a postwar photo or signature. In fact
the seller makes a point in saying that the signature is done with a fountain pen and is a war time photo therefore I judged it as described.

If you now believe it to be a post-war signature and you're happy with it then that's all that matters.

                          Regards,
                          AB.

                            Wartime dud

Here's a 'wartime' Dietrich on ebay I wouldn't be buying... standard dodgy clipping.

                            http://www.ebay.de/itm/S-Dietrich-Kr...item336cbb13ec

And a selection of other 'Dietrich' signed clippings I wouldn't want... look familiar?

Thanks for posting this 'impressive' compilation of fakes.

I have six or seven Dietrich autographs from 1933 to 1944,
but non look like any of those.

I've received various thumbs up from other LAH collectors
and book authors in the meantime and proceeded with the
purchase. Most importantly, I feel very good about this particular
                              postwar autograph.

                              Thanks again and cheers,
                              Markus
