Help with medal on photo

Hi
Came across this portrait picture and was wandering what medal he has-I thought at first a War Merit Cross but the ribbon looks all one colour to me?
any thoughts

Hello Andy,

That is a Bulgarian Soldier Cross for Bravery. It is either a 2nd class or a 4th class: (a 2nd class if gold or a 4th class if silver).
