    Portrait Photograph Nice Details

Picked this up on ebay $17 which I thought good for a 8inch x 10inch period photograph. Soldier has IAB and WB. I cant determine exact year, tunic has pleats on the pockets and looks to have 5 button closure but the generic litzen?. Anyhow the Cap is it a M43 or a shorter billed bergmutze is that the correct term. Insignia to cap I cant make out. I need new glasses, is it the T Type. Whatever I liked it so much I thought Id share/show it. Im meeting a friend tomorrow just back from Germany where he picked up some LAH combat photographs which I will try to prise from him or at the least copy to post here.
    cheers Robert

    LAH Sidecar with MG42

Checked out those photographs. Seems my friend thinks showing them will ruin their value. Heres a nice one of a Cycle with Sidecar and the key insignia of the LAH clearly visible. 2nd photograph is of other stuff he has collected from fleamarkets.
    cheers Robert

Robert, Your friend has picked up quite a few less than original items. I hope he is not under the impression that everything is original WW2. Jacques

            Items not real.

Yes I know but what can I do he also has a APB which he thinks real. With the photographs some were definitely okay being those smaller period ones you find in albums a lot. Some had been album removed. Some like the one I posted here is sus. He is an older chap who worked in Germany in the 60s and does have some nice tunics and caps which he picked up back then and I have shown here. But not being in any collecting clubs he doesnt have the feedback you get here. Its a pity as some of his stuff is good. When you tell someone you think some of their collection is bogus they get defensive as if it relects upon their intelligence. I gave up worrying years ago.
            cheers Robert
