!! Officers of the Heer !!

    Hi guys <O</O

I have recently come by this photo which seems to be of a group of what appears to be SNCO's, just judging that on the White boarding on the collars. Must be <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><ST1Germany</ST1 as there is gothic lettering on the doors behind them. Any other help would be much appreciated regarding their ranks/ unit ?

    Kindest Regards

    Mark <O</O

It could be they were on a course at a trades or rank qualifying school, Note the uniform, Most are wearing some level of dress uniform, note the shoes as opposed to "Jack" boots and they are all wearing forage caps. Also it is probably prewar as there is a lack of any awards of any kind. Although there might have been a level of dress uniform that did no have you wearing medals, It,s been my experience you would have the course Officr and instructors and any one else in the front, Maybe the 1 with the"Jack" boots was the driver/storesman for the course, The people in the back ground seem very happy. As I remember, my SrNcoand my Sgt's courses in the Artillery were quite intensive and I would have a smile on my face too. infact if I were to dig deep enough I could come up with pic's that would look very similar except with Canadian soldiers and a few decades newer . It could be the building behind them was a restaurant and thats where they had their Grad dinner. Hope this is of help

Sorry to say it is near impossible to identify the unit or units these NCO's belong to unless written on the reverse or sometimes they had signs propped up in front of them with unit or School course they were attending or you were able to see a cuffband or unit number or symbol on their shoulder boards. I have alot of these types of photos which will never be identified unless someone identifies a person in the photo itself. Bill
