....with these "Russian" stamps on the backs. Just plain fakes ??

There are a lot of these being made up and reprinted with the archive stamp from "Stalin's Banner" Magazine. This one is also from the same group making copies and is indeed modern copies. They are also taking original German press photos and reprinting the glued on caption that goes on the backside. The paper they print the captions on are crappy and old looking, a quality of paper you only see in the ex USSR. I know guys importing and selling them in flea markets to unsuspecting tourists in the ex USSR.

They are definetly fakes. There are a lot of common and some uncommon press photos-and basically EVERY photo in an Angolia book is for sale in the ruffled edge form with a cyrillic stamp on the back and some story about how it was "deacessed" by the Ukranian state archives.
