german unit italy/greece 1943-1945

Hello

I got a few pictures from an geerman unit who served in (I think) italy till 1945 but can anyone help me with the unit aso?

Sorry, I have no scanner, hope the quality is anough!

Questions:

1) Can anyone help me with the platoon sign on the cabrio?

2)Where ist this "Kastell Radi", they have been there in "Neujahr 1945",--> newyear 1945

3) On the backside is written "Ehrenkompanie im Kastell Radi". Can anyone help? Was there a spcial unit on this KAstell? Which unit? Why has german troops been there in January 1945 ???

Are you sure about the 1945? Could you show the writting for 1945 and Kastell Radi. Have a look at the link below

What do you think is that it? It is the Palace of the Grand Master.

The unit stationed in the castle could be from Festung Inf.Btl. 1001. Fest.Inf.Btl.1002 was also stationed there as well as Pz.Abt. Rhodos. Probably the best thing is to look up "Sturm Division Rhodos" and you will find plenty of information. Neujahr 1945 seems correct as the garrision on Rhodos surrendered on 8th May 1945. The two photos I included in my first mail I think conclude therefore that it is the Palace of the Grand Master in Rhodos.
