Recommendation for a DK in Silver signed by Wisch as Division Commander of LSSAH and by Sepp Dietrich as Korps Commander. Where did you find this?

Few things would concern me regarding this Document. However they could be explained, by someone more knowledgeable in this area of collecting than my self.

              BDC theft

              Yes, Wisch and Dietrich.

One more recommendation originally stolen from the Berlin Document Center.

              Sad.

Markus, I am not sure I understand your comment about the document having been stolen from the Berlin Document Center. Can you explain? Thanks.

Just as an aside, there were huge numbers of docs stolen years ago from Berlin by so-called "researchers" who were taking documents to sell.

While not knowing all the fine points of it, a search here on the forum will turn up a fair amount of info.

                    Hi !

It was basically a well-known theft organized by German
and U.S. dealers during the 80'ies, smuggeling out
documents from the personnel files, etc. from the archieves
of the German governement in Berlin.

                    Google. You should find something.

Very interessting about the stolen documents from the archiv:

"The others on trial today were Henri Berger, 58, and Herbert Borrmann, 52, both flea-market dealers in West Berlin, and Andre Husken, 32, of Hamburg, one of the best known of West Germany's war memorabilia dealers."
