Can you scan the complete caption for the photo? It lists General Elster's first name as Erich. In fact his full name is Botho Henning Elster. I have a VCR tape of his surrender (unfortunately it is European format and I have not been able to view it yet). I also have his decorations and his award documents that I purchased from Detlev Niemann some years ago.
