The Pak 40 was used as an Artillery piece in the Volks Grenadier Div's. There was something about modifiying the sheilds to attain the higher elevation required for indirect fire. I have it in 1 of my books, but at the moment I am unable to find it.

Laurence,
I'm sure there were modifications to the shields but these particular Pak guns belonged to Fortress Battalion 88 located on the beaches and bunker in and around northern Holland. They were taken by the Commander Major Koenig who was the Father of a Panther Tank Commander, My very good friend djpool had previously posted at least three photo albums of Leutnant Koenig on another thread. Bill
Here are a couple of Pak 37 guns manned by winter camo FJ's in the harsh freezing & snowy conditions of the Russian frontAttached Files

Hi. I just brought that up as a point of interest, I was not trying to imply that you were incorrect in your statement

Laurence.
I didn't take it as such an implication so were are good on that point. Since you raised that question did you find anything on the shields. Cheers - Bill

My favorite Pak is 8,8cm Bunkerflak - mounted on 12t halftrack. Only 10 (or 12) were built, all assigned to one unit (1./s.P.8 - schwere Panzerjägerabteilung 8).

I collect everything from this unit, if you have one... Please let me know!

Akira,
Very rare pic of adapted 88cm and love that Pak40 with MG. Looks to be set up in a training area. Is a location given? Great pics thanks for sharing them with us! - Bill
Laurence,
Say no more...I know what you are going through. I made a major move from Germany to Texas back in July of last year. I bought a house here in Corpus Christi and still living amongst boxes!! I don't mind though because alot of it is my collection so it's Christmas every time I open a box!! Bill
