Here-- I had to crop this so it would fit posting size limits here for the Forums, but I didn't want it to get lost as a sold item from ebay.

Maybe there is a clue on the back.

It is pre-war, but in profile and not able to see his ribbon bar (or rank), all I can tell from this is the general was NOT a WW1 flyer, since all he has is a 1914 EK1.

We need clues like the "Kaupisch" thread to identify from a photo.

Hi guys. In this picture.....the sword Goering is wearing. Is that a samurai .I know it sounds dumb, but he was unorthidox when it came to uniform regs and they were allies. The long downward hilt looks sort of like one. If not , what is it? Thanks.

No, that's the standard silly retro-Napoleonic court sword for Luftwaffe generals. What you are seeing as a long extended hilt is the removed glove from his right hand being clasped there in his gloved left hand like a condom banana. He's just resting the side of his hand on the top of the sword hilt to keep it from swinging.

              Thanks for the information .
Btw, is it possible that the general is Alfred Keller ?

No, not Keller. Among other award differences, he had a Pour le Merite from WW1 and there is nothing on this general's necktie.
