U-Boat 510 in Japan album, Scheel Family documents

    Hi all,
Ok so i have a vet who recently contacted me. He served in the USMC in the pacific during WW2 and also Korea. His brother was in the 101st, was wounded jumping in France, became a POW and escaped 3 times, he was sentenced to execution and was liberated by American forces days before it could occur. He spent the remainder of his time on occupation duties in Germany, in which he became friends with a very prominent German family, the Scheel family, which had 3 sons all the Luftwaffe, one later becoming president. So now the surviving brother has many many interesting documents relating to Freidrich Scheel, as well as a photo album of u-boat u-510 and their mission to japan( he seems to believe that this is actually u-235, one of the photos is in a geisha house and he was adamant it was doenitz in the photo). This is only a fraction of the documentation he has, he is looking to have these sold and required my help. Take a look at some of the photos of the signatures, pictures, and documents and this is partial of what is available.

First ill start with a few of the documents pertaining to Freidrich Scheel.

And the photo album: Many photos so ill just post the highlights

I should also mention, there is various awards included in the grouping including a pilot badge and LW ribbon, also a very interesting photo of doenitz and company as POW dated 1947, photo of the back below perhaps someone has translation.

Does he only have the promotion docs?

I guess you know that apart from the black ink sig, the rest are facsimile?
The sig in the note on his promotion to oberstleutnant is that of Stumpff.

Scheel commanded airfields in norway for at least part of the war.

Are hitler/Goering facsimile signatures of any real value? From what it looks like one promotion doc has both hiter and goering facsimile sigs, while the other has an original goering signature with hitler facsimile. I guess it has more real value as a grouping with everything together i would assume?

Please don't even consider advising to split up the Scheel group. It belongs together and should stay together.

I think the main question is, and this is for the Germans here really, does the group become more interesting if this Friedrich Scheel was brother to Walter Scheel the former German president?

Yes i would never consider breaking the group up.
I should also mention there is 3 brothers. Walter, Freidrich, and Gunther Scheel who was a LW ace in the eastern front.

Im going to be picking up everything in regards to Freidrich scheel in the coming days, the documents, badges/awards, maps ect. From there ill take proper photos of the entire group and list it on the estand, or sell to whoever collects grouping like these. Let me know if anyone here or elsewhere is interested.
