Luftwaffe Flag ID Assistance...

A friend of mine just ran across this nice little Luftwaffe photo....the "white" area (marked in red in the second scan) looks to be virtually the same color as the body of the flag......is it just the optics of the B/W photo or ???

Hello Hs:
IMO a typical yellow Luft flight fahne, with normal white
rays or swastika cross arms. Flag field & arms shade
look alike is IMO just due to B&W photo contrast.
