Letter from France to Brother - with Pictures

Hello All,

Found this neat Postcard/Note from a soldier, Jakob Strauss, located in France to his brother, Peter Strauss, back home in Strassborg.

The card measures approx 5" x 5.5".

I believe the captions for the photos are: "Signal Troops with birds," "'Army Air'" (with a German "LOL"!) and "Fighting in the field in France".

Hello.

The carrier pigeon photo is quite well known so I do not think this is an origional photo.

If you google 'German carrier pigeon photo' you will see the same photo.

Chris,

I knew I had seen a similar photo in the past. Must have been a standard "reprinted" photo for the troops to use in correspondence. This version is roughly 5x5cm. I would guess the same for the other photo.
