Could this be Erich Hartmann?

Hello all,

A while ago I received three photographs, and on the back of one of them was written "Erich Hartmann, RK + EL". Unfortunately I can not make out if the person on the photograph is indeed Hartmann, and therefore I was hoping that someone is able to help; is he indeed the person on the photograph?

Yes, I think that's Hartmann. After comparing many of the photos in his biography, "The Blond Knight of Germany," the facial structure and the ear particularly seem to be a good match. Very nice candid shot.

Thanks for the positive identity match! Quite an unexpected find then because I thought they weren't the same person!
Makes the photo extra special to me, since I don't often see private photographs of Erich Hartmann.

Hmm, that's a shame, but at least I'm sure now that it is not Erich Hartmann. Most likely the writing on the back will be post-war then. Still a nice photograph in my opinion.

Well Koen, you've certainly heard from the experts! But for me, after spending time with Hartmann's biography, and especially with the shots of him in profile, I still think it's Hartmann. I wonder how the experts came to their conclusion? Best wishes,
