    Flag Standard on Building

    Hi

Would anybody be able to say anything about the flag at half mast in the centre of the photo at the link below. It seems to be quartered and the dark area I suppose could be red, Black or maybe green?

    Thanks

    Hello:
Looks like maybe an International signal code "L" flag.
Being flown from a radio mast rather than a flag pole.
"L" when raised ashore means "a notice has been posted."

thanks OFW does the fact that it is half mast have any significance and would this have been the international code during WW2 and as an international code does it means the same to a german or american or chinese etc

If the flag is on a radio tower mast, it might be lower
down to keep it away from the wires or xmit elements
at the top - a dual use structure, but again just a guess.
As for signal flags, international use would be the same.
