Found one of "my" photos on eBay!

Since the rest of the pix seem to bear no resemblance, I can only guess the guys served together and shared a photo...

Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

Happens quite often to me. Crew or flottilla members passing copies around amongst each other.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Nothing to worry Hank, I also had it before with photos.

If you compare the two photos you will notice that both didn't make fully use of the negative. Your photo shows more on the left side and the ebay one more on the right. I would also guess different photopaper, so maybe not printed at the same time.

      Kind regards, Thomas

ps. I would also suggest colour scans for black and white photos.

Happens all the time when comparing albums for different persons in the same unit.

I have the original negatives from a Gebirgsjäger, and his photos can be found in several of the other albums that comes from the same regiment and platoon.

And as stated by Thomas H. Always scann your photos in colour when building your archive. It will potentialy save you a lot of work later if you want to do something more with them.
Over 30.000 photos from German photo albums, related to Norway

Always looking for photos and photo albums from Norway.

Yeah, I knew there wasn't really anything fishy, just thought it was interesting.

Except for the part about what must have been a fantastic album (or three) from the 21st U-jagd Flottille in the Mediterranean being ripped apart and sold to the 4 winds. I managed to win 4 of the groups, but not the other 10 or 12.

I guess I can take some solace in the fact that I already own a few of the pics....
