Hi,
Nice edition! This is I believe what was called the "Geschenksaugabe." At least this is the version that appears to correspond to what's listed as the Geschenksausgabe in the back pages of other Mein Kampf that show the different types that could be bought. I've seen them in this partial leather binding, and in an all linen binding without the leather. They originally came with dust jackets and in a cardboard case. An edition with the dust jackets is shown here http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...schenksausgabe
Very nice find!
Best,
Greg

Hi skalp,
Indeed a lovely set of books, in excellent condition especially considering that they are almost 3/4 of a century old! As I understand it, the type of binding your books display is still available in the publishing industry today; it is called 'Deluxe' and it provides for linen boards with leather spine and sometimes leather-reinforced corners, and often gold-embossing to the cover board and spine. Deluxe books usually come with cardboard sleeves and occasionally paper jackets, though not in every case, and the jackets and sleeves usually don't survive. I'm sure book sleeves are often thought of as part of the packing and are discarded immediately after opening -- sad to say!
Congrats on a truly rare addition to your library,
Br. James
