Hello Had this stuck in a book for years. I think this is real. The back has Official Business Federal Bureau of Investigations and has a list of FBI offices, locations and phone numbers.

Yes, FBI Wanted posters are cool! I've had a couple of them in my collection for several decades, both from early 1945: a Heer sgt who escaped from a camp in Massachusetts and a Luftwaffe lt who escaped from a camp in Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada. And I too have wondered what happened to both of these guys since their escapes.

Was the FBI the agency that ordinarily pursued fugitive POWs? I would have assumed the Army took care of that (perhaps with the cooperation of local law enforcemnt offices).Comment
