Is it acceptable for the smaller military doc's such as EK1 or EK 2 to be signed in pencil ? Im sorry I dont have a picture. Thanks.

Today we are obsessed with the idea that everything MUST be signed in ink...and preferably indelible ink! This is a relatively new concept; for much of the 20th century, people even wrote and signed bank checks with pencil and this was totally acceptable. And while it is rare -- at least in my experience -- to find a Hitler signature in pencil (he always carried at least one fountain pen), both Himmler and Röhm used colored pencils to sign many documents -- Himmler in green and Röhm in purple! And I have also seen a number of other significant signatures written in pencil; whatever writing instrument was at hand was OK for most people!
