    Mein Kampf Prices

    hi,

did anyone see this on eban

    http://cgi.ebay.com/1939-1st-ed-MEIN...item230bf84a90

is that a rediculous price or is that what it's worth?

    cheers, del.

The buyer could have gotten it cheaper at abebooks, though that initial Hutchinson & Co version of the 1939 Hurst & Blackett edition is usually more expensive than many German versions, especially with DJ.

      hi Greg,

how much was it at abebooks?

reason i ask is i recently picked one of these up. no DJ but it's in much better condition than the one on eban and in dark blue or black leather.

i'll upload pics when i get a chance.

      cheers, del.

          Hi Del,

Looks like you have a very nice one, and nice photo too!

I don't use abebooks to try to gauge exact prices because too often people will price books real high, and they don't sell for ages if ever. There's one for $590 that doesn't mention a DJ, but that seems way too high. There are several more in the mid-$300 range and lower. Most sellers don't have photos on abebooks, so you have to rely on their descriptuions to try to compare examples.

          Best,
          Greg

            Hi Greg,

            thanks for the info.
had a look on abebooks and i reckon $300-$400 seems like a fair value in this condition, but then it all depends on what someone's prepared to pay.

just for future reference - when the link in the first post no longer works - here are 2 pics of the book we were discussing.

              it sold for $599.

              cheers, del.
