    research

hello, would it be possible to research a person from third reich documents from the wehrmacht, political organizations, or other organizations?

what can you research (names, units, etc) (or just the name) and in what organizations is research possible?

    thanks

Jeez, just about everything is researchable. People, units, actions, whatever. Depends on how much you have to go by, or start with. Some are easier than others, depending on how famous or infamous a person, place, or unit is.

If you're looking for unit information here's a great site http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...rzeichnis1.htm

If you're looking for info on a soldier who was killed, doesn't have every German soldier killed but it does have most. http://www.volksbund.de/volksbund/volksbund-en.html

If you're a direct relative of a soldier you can contact the DD WASt for their military records but you usually have to be a direct descendant.

You can possibly get some info from the German Red Cross, it's really hit or miss though.

Another option you if you would like to research a particular soldier is to hire a private researcher.
