Hello forum!
As many of your know there was a special section of the Grossdeutschland Division that was separate from the division. This unit was first called the Führer-Begleit-Bataillon, then gradually increased in size until it was finally a division in early 1945.
Before becoming a division, the Führer-Begleit-Brigade took part in the failed Ardennes offensive of December, 1944. They were attached to the 5.Panzer-Army and had a limited role in engagements around St. Vith.
I am interested in finding photographs from this brigade. Can anybody post them? If you are unwilling to show them on the forum, please send me a private message. They are important to my research!
To start off the photos, here is a link to a veteran's page: Rudolph Salvermoser was in the FBB, but did not take part in the Ardennes offensive. Seen in the photos are several tanks from the unit before and after the winter of 1944-45.
