How to check the authenticity of the signatures?

I have seen many post war autographed photos of German soldiers. How to check the authenticity of the signatures?

If you don't know the signature by yourself you can only take the way to compare the

signature with an authentfied signature of the person. Nevertheless you could find an

ingenious forger...

If someone offers some photo with fake signature (or other items) here on the forum, do you advise?
