Greetings all. Trying to find out as much as I can about a couple of photos.

So, what I've got so far (happy to be corrected)...
Probably Gebirgsjager
Marksmanship lanyard
Rifle is Mauser G33/40
Obergefreiter chevrons
Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon

What I'm not sure about...
Is that the Winterschlacht im Osten ribbon he's wearing in 2nd button hole? I've never seen it worn like that before.
What would the badge be on his right arm?
Interesting to see the pistol on his belt.

Any info you can glean from the photos would be appreciated...
