    Dritte Reich Stamps - Opinions.

    Anyone collect stamps?

I would have loved these but alas money is tight at the moment

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=2997565566

Anyone have any idea if they were a good buy or not?

    Cheers,
    David.
At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

    Hi David,

The prices posted in the eBay auction is way too money for ordinary Third Reich issues.
Besides finding them in eBay there are numerous other places were you can find Third Reich stamps at better prices.

I recommended the American Philatelic Society:

    http://www.stamps.org/

    The German Philatelic Society:

    http://www.gps.nu/

Also the Third Reich Yahoo Study Group:

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Third_Reich_Stamps/

All those web sites could help you find Third Reich Stamps at better prices.
    I hope this helps.

Thanks for the pointers Rene I'll check them out.

When it comes to stamps it is thier visual impact that I find attractive but of course you need lots of them to make an impact. I liked the Ebay lot because it was a large colourful collection in one go. Would have looked very nice framed up as one display.

      Cheers,
      David.
