    Oldwig von Natzmer

    Hi Roman,

looks like Oberst i.G. Oldwig von Natzmer, awarded the Knight's Cross as the Ia of Panzer-Grenadier-Division Grossdeutschland on 4 September 1943. Later promoted to Generalleutnant. One can just make out the general staff stripes on his trousers. Very nice photo!

    Regards
    Glenn

Very nice photo, just a question or two, first can he contact by cellular directly with Hitler's Headquarters or he always received the same advise, no coverage available, call it later?

And now a serious one, the NCO in the background wearing the Spanish Cross has no collar patches or just my impresion?

          Hi Angel!
I think that he is speaking the celluar phone with the Red Army's Commander
& offering him to drink some Russian Vodka.

And serious one-it seems to you that NCO doesen't have collar patches.

Angel,I have one question to you-What is your opinion about cuff title on
          the left arm of NCO?

          KR,

              Afrika with palms???????

It's the only option i have, in the left arm (his left arm) only this as the other cufftitle with cream colour is FHH and not posible a combo of GD and FHH.

Nice miostery you have in this photo, maybe a volunteer with Gruppe Imker in Spain, later panzer man in Afrika and finally assigned to GD.........what a trip.

It is definitely von Natzmer. Von N was a general staff officer...long associated with the "GD"... so if this were in color, you would see that he seems to have always worn the caramine red on his collar tabs and boards....even the lampaßen on his breeches.

The cufftitle on the other soldier is almost certainly an Afrika cuffband. von Manteuffel, who commanded the division in '44 mainly, had served in Africa and many GD members also did. He is a rather young looking guy for a Spanish Cross.

Very good photo...one I have never seen. Where from Sergey?

He has few decorations in his ribbon bar for an Spain and Africa veteran. No EK, too. Very strange.
