I obtained this grouping in the 1980's in Germany. It belongs to Rolf Bergmann, NCO in GD Fuehrerhauptquartier and consists of photos an documents.
He is seen here in a variety of photos with Hitler's entourage including Colonel Schmundt, Hitler's adjutant (later killed in Stauffenberg's July 20, 1944 bomb plot). He was a tall man so he stands out in the group shots of Hitler and the General Staff.
I suspect the Bergmann was Schmundt's driver while he was attached to the Fuehrer-Hauptquartier. There are two personal letters from Schmundt to him as well as a small portrait photo apparently removed from an identity document. The latter may have been a souvenir given to Bergmann by Schmundt when the man was transfered to the Eastern Front.
The documents include the three annexations medals, a posthumous Iron Cross 2nd class with a letter signed by Major Engel (GD-FHQ), Hero's Death Certificate, permits to wear foreign awards, promotions, etc as well as an Identity Card for the Reichskanzlei.
Also among the documents are several (including one signed by GD Oberst Hoernlein) from his brothers, Friedrich and Gerd Bergmann, who were also in Grossdeutschland.
Bergmann was killed in action in Russia on Oct 14, 1941 presumably at the battle for Karnchev where the Grenadier Rgt GD suffered heavy losses.
The portrait photo shows him wearing both GD and Fuehrerhauptquatier sleevebands. The early SS portrait shows an interesting cap and photographer retouched Standarte 17 collar tab.
In all there are dozen of personal photos of Bergmann from Reichswehr to GD with many official group photos with Hitler and General Staff officers in which he is clearly visible.
