Could it be Krech of U 558? There aren't many Gunthers with short last names in KM that were RKT.

I think you are right. I compared MY signature of Gunter, with Gunther Krech, and they were a lot different. Got any ideas on the next 4 I posted? Thanks for the info! Bill

Günther Pulst, Günther is written with ü.

Thought it was him but no ü to see in his signature.

And he received his RK on 21.12.1944.

Maybe it is just the position of the photo, but in my opinion the weather seems to be too good.

Also I do have his wartime and postwar version of his signature, and they don't compare to the one that is shown under the photo.

That is why I thought that it wasn't him.

            Thank you too Bill.........

I don't have an umlaut on my keyboard. I know I should put an e after the vowel, instead, but that just looks wrong, too. Sorry for the confusion caused by my American keyboard. I bought a German keyboard once. The letters typed all wrong! It was impossible to use on my computer. I wonder where I could find a German keyboard that would work correctly with my computer? Any ideas? Thanks Eric-Jan Bill

                I don't have a German keyboard for my PC, but one can use : alt + 129 = ü.
etc etc etc for all the other German letters.

                  it's not that hard really

                  as EJ Bakker said about this : Alt 129 ü, Alt 225 ß, Alt 132 ä, Alt 148 ö

that is the basics, here are the Capitals

                  Alt 142 Ä, Alt 153 Ö, Alt 154 Ü

                  that should help

                  E ~

How do you do it? I tried holding down Alt while typing 129 and it did not work.

                      Bill

you cannot use the numbers on the top running horizontally over the Capitals

do you have a key pad on the far right side of numbers/capitals ? if so this is what you use the numerations are in a series of 9 if this makes sense with a + and - plus enter tabs. I have a dell keyboard and this is typical of it.

                      Erich ~

Well, I did it, but SOME of these letters are wrong for MY keyboard. when I tried doing o with umlaut, I thought my monitor was going to blow up - really. But some of them are ok. Grüß Bill

I went from Alt 120 to Alt 170, and could not find U, E, I, or Y CAPITALS with umlauts. I found all kinds of French vowels like Ç and ¢. I wonder why I can't find the caps? Ö is the only Cap I found. Maybe my computer is messed up.

                            1. Start -> Run -> type there "charmap" and click "OK";
                            2. Win+R -> type there "charmap" and click "OK".

Select any char you want. When you select a char, combination "alt+123456789" for this char appears in the right lower corner.

Maybe you should do this using your PM box, this is NOT IT (Information Technologies) FORUM...
