makes me wonder too!! and those pics command a damn high price..
let me belive its just because of the rarity of such pics, as they can not be found in any photo album.. and nothing more!!!at least I hope so..

but with the ones on the Estand..I doubt they are pre45 photos

The photos are gruesome but they depict the reality of what happened during the war. They should not be hidden away or destroyed. There seems to be justification to own them, although I would personally not be interested. By the way those partisans were not innocent angels, they often committed barbarous killings of German and axis soldiers. They chose to take part in the war, no longer civilians, so really I can not feel sorry for them in every case.

I am selling those pictures. Price is high but I have seen similair pics sold for 100 USD and higher. After all, this is just a starting price and pics will be sold for substantially less amount.

I admit that pictures look strange. Especially resolution! Maybe they are wartime copies of the original. Lot of booklets and pictures were made and were distributed as anti axis(german) propaganda.
I have seen lot of partisan pics made on unusual paper too.

I agree! I have met lot of partisan fighters in my life. Few of them are my neighbours. One of them was in 11. dalmatian storm brigade. That brigade is very famous by mass executions and killings they committed on civilians, priests and nuns.
He told me that they haven´t taken any prisoners. He witnessed personally, more than once, when wounded german soldiers were shot point blank where they were found laying!
As I said before, I have met lot of partisans, healthy and disabled but I have never met any disabled Ustasha fighter!

I would emphasize that I don´t support or justify killings committed by either side.

I have seen people complain about these types of photos on other forums too. It seems that the reality of war and death frightens and upsets some people. I agree that what happened to the partisans and others during wartime is a horrible tragedy, but it is also a part of history that should not be forgotten. I never have went searching for KIA photos, but I must admit I have a couple partisan hanging photos that I have gotten in photo lots and I admit that I found them interesting but very disturbing. But the truth is.... that war is disturbing and I find it odd that people cannot handle images like these and actually research war materials in depth. If you read history books or materials, then you should have seen images like these hundreds of times. I think that if you are a photo collector who wants to collect EVERY type and aspect of wartime images, then unfortunately this IS a part that you will see in this type of collection. I wouldnt frown upon anyone for buying these photos, but personally it is just something that I dont feel is necessary for my own collection. One of those subjects that is sad but true and still considered taboo in our society and probably always will be.

p.s. think of the people who collect bullet hole ridden helmets with blood stains.......I find it interesting that nobody sees that as disturbing

Unfortunatley they are found in photo albums. My grandfathers ww2 Seabee scrapbook has a pic he took of KIA japs on the beach in the pacific. But yes, these are rare images which fetch ridiculous amounts of money on Ebay especially.

yes I know...just little language problem here.. I meant that those photos are very rare because you cannot find them very often in Photo Albums..that makes them quite expensive..of course sometimes you do find them.

                  .
of course these kind of photos (all gruesome photos not just partisan) are very hard to find and are expensive and desired.
I cannot further comment on your photos, because I know not much about those photos, they just look odd to me but if they are authentic ww2 period photos, the price would be very good.

when Ive seen them for sale.....it seems that the KIA photos of German soldiers fetch more money than those of dead French soliders etc. The photos that are VERY seldomly seen are original photos of KIA American/Canadian or Brittsh Soldiers. It seems like they are always russian, japenese, french or partisans KIA photos that you see more often. This thread made me look through my albums and I found another photo I have of dead French soldiers in a ditch that have been stripped of there gear and all there things are strewn about. So I think that there are some people who do not "aim" to collect these types of photos, but they eventually just end up in your colection over time
