Just another example of Ebay bidding fever and possible lack of knowledge for what that photo actually is....A jump qualified Heer member in tropical uniform with half a jump badge showing nothing more. I bid a max of 45 Euros for it which is what I think it was worth...contrary to the insane final bid was for this portrait. I did however win another much sharper image of a FJ in LW tropical uniform with a full shot of the cloth badge which I considered much more interesting and valuable to me for less than 45 Euros. So Go Figure!

          Apart from the wrong description,
pics in "Heeres-Uniform" with Paratrooper badge reach
          always high prices!!

Maybe one of the Gebirgsjäger-Men who jumped in Narvik!?

Isn't Heer the correct term for Army and is he not wearing a tropical uniform with only half the badge showing??? So how is it an incorrect description??? What you say is speculation and maybe it is this or that...but if there is no provenance which I assume there isn't in this case as none was stated. Then to me it is only worth the price I quoted. To others it is worth what they are willing to pay and they don't always reach that kind of price as I have purchased a few that come no where near that price. That is why people say it is Insane or Crazy and others may disagree and always will.

The discription is a bit misleading...
But its ok for the buyer if he wants it!!

So now my description is misleading? I broke it down for you on what I said so I don't think it is misleading at all but I do agree with you that is up to the buyer on how he wants it and how much he is willing to pay for it but my comment remains the same....Insane!

                Frohe Weihnachten!!

I dont think he meant YOUR description was misleading. He meant the title to the photo was misleading. Anyway, I agree with W.Petz.......45euro is the absolute maximum this photo should have sold for, and even that is a little high IMO. But like stated, an item of history is only worth what a buyer feels it is worth to themselves. This is a perfect example of just that. But just think......for it to have reached that price, there was definitely more than one person bidding over 200 euro for that pic! HAHA!!
