8.LW Felddivision - 10. Flak Division grouping

..and just arrived this grouping, too. The EK2 document signatured Generalmajor Helmuth Huffmann ( RK awarded 30.September 1943. ) and the LW Flak Badge signatured General,ajor Franz Engel.

Very nice set. I like that is says "flack" on the wound badge doc.

The EK doc is nice too- it's interesting to see that the division is written out under the recipient. This was a hectic time... 8 LFD was a partly/poorly trained unit that suffered massive losses in the face of the Soviet offensive in November/December. It was basically destroyed and its remants retreated with Hollidt's detachment. It appears that this batallion was temporarily attached to 62 ID. 8LFD was disbanded after only a few monts of existence.

According to Goering's Grenadiers, "The artillery battalion contained two companies of 75mm Czech Mountain guns and a battery of STUG-III assault guns"
