Who are the Guys in this Photo - no Collar Tabs?

1939 dated photo, and the soldiers are all fairly old. They have white or light piping on their shoulder boards, but black or dark soutache on their hats.

And then - no Collar Tabs.

Any ideas?

The name written on the back is "Lugendorf" August 1939.

There are three towns called Lugendorf in Germany 1939, two of them in Austria and one in Upper Silesia. I cannot identify which of them is ment here on the photo.

I made a closer inspection of the text. So I think it is ment Lugendort in Upper Silesis (today Lugnian)

because also the photographer "A. Elbing" came from Ilnau O.S. - Ilnau Ober - Schlesien

/ Upper Silesia.

The date could indicate that this was during the general mobilization that happened in this month and these guys have just been issued with uniforms and haven't yet got all the correct insignia.

There's only a few guys in the pic who look under 40. I would guess that many of them are WW1 vets.
