    Assistance with Equipment Idenification...

Sorry - The title should have read Identification....

At any rate, I just received this wartime photo of a very stern and no-nonsense looking Shepherd. Can anyone positively identify the odd looking piece of equipment in the background ??? If you look closely, the piece in question may possibly (??) be attached to the back of a truck (note what looks to be a rear panel door and tire [lower right] of a truck).

My first thought is that it's a generator

I would agree, it looks like a generator on wheels that you can attach to a vehicle.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

        Thankx for the replies...

In all likelihood, this photo was taken in / near a repair facility of some type, the Shepherd being added security. I like the fact that a tunic (overcoat ??) with sleeve chevron can be seen hanging in the background, and that the Shepherd has a bandaged "War Wound" on his left ear...
