1938 Letter to Gauleiter Bürckel, on the e-stand

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=475986

It shows a prime example of the useless value of COAs.

The COA looks very impressive with those stamps and signatures on it.

Look at the most important part of the COA, the text in bold black in the middle.

It is an invitation to a SS officers' meeting (Führerbesprechung) to be held at the home barracks of SS-Standarte "Deutschland".

Nothing to do with Hitler !

The asking price must be based upon the incorrect translation.

The letter and the signature are original.

    yours friendly

Couldnt a notary lose their license for something like this?

Not the Notary's fault. She's just attesting that the COA declaration was done under oath.

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I'm not the only one who got burned on this one. I have the listing from the site where it was bought in 2004 at $1150.00 by another collector.

I thought the Cowdery's knew their stuff and never translated the piece myself. I'll adjust the price tomorrow.
