What type of jeep is this ?

Is that a normal jeep with soft top or armour ?

Why would they build a tin metal top for a jeep ?
I thought these jeeps had a normal canvis top ?

It's a Willy's jeep I think.

Could it have the top if it's a radio transmitting vehicle. Would sem to fit with thye photo.

Hi Ian:

Just noticed your post.

After the war, thousands of Jeeps were surplused off and made their way into either the civilian or municipal fleets in many countries as well as being taken over by the Armed Forces of many countries.

I have seen over the years dozens of such modifications which I assume are to make the Jeep more comfortable in it's new "Peacetime" uses.

I would suggest your photo is of a vehicle in civilian use of some sort as it has what seems to be a non-military registration number and non-military and very, very badly worn tyres.
