Agreed, impossible to tell, however, interesting use of the metal cap eagle.

Not GJ IMO; his waffenfarbe on the shoulderboards appears to be light to be Mountain troops green and indeed no other indications that he is.

The tunic I believe to be a private purchase, look at the eagle on the tunic. It appears to be hand embroidered, as I have one similar on a Pioneer Waffenrock. I'm not sure that a metal eagle , on a EM visor would bend at that angle without breaking

Its a metal eagle for sure.

I would venture that it is a typical panzer grenadier with the cap and color piping of the waffenfarbe. Metal eagle is interesting. Jacques

Nothing unusual. They show up in photos. Metal eagles are found in photos worn with the wings somewhat pinched back by the wearer on M-43's in place of cloth insignia.
