    Uli,

thanks for letting us know, even though it's sad news

Kumm was one of the most outstanding commanders of the Waffen-SS and hopefully will always be remembered as such.

That is very sad to hear!!

The only SS Oakleave winner left now is Walter Girg! The ranks of the RKT is growing less and less.

      Regards
      Phil

If I were in Deutschland now, I would go. (I'll be about 3 weeks too late.) Thank you "Thomas V." for the notification.

It would be intesting to know if there were any reference made to his time in das Welt Krieg. Whether Kameraden from the war, show up or not and what tribute they might provide, if any.

It is always sad to lose a professional soldier of any nation. Rest in Peace Otto.

                      Seine Ehre hiess Treue!

I visited him 2 times during the last years. Both visits I will never forget in my life. Unfortunately I now live in Mexico. I would have like to go to his funeral and see other HIAG Kameraden saying good-bye not only to a proud and honourable commander but also to a very dedicated father and founder of the vet organisation after the war in Hamburg.

During both meetings with him at his house I made tape interviews. Those I will keep with honor and maybe put them in writing for others to read in the future.

I salute this brave and honest German soldier who was to a certain degree a victim of his times.

                      "Deine Ehre hiess Treue!"

                      Dein junger HIAG-Freundeskreis Kamerad
