    Winterschlacht medal

Maybe a strange post, but I'll ask this anyway.
After seeing a (reasonable) number of german ww2 (ostfront) photos, I came to a realisation that most guys have ek2 and not a single wears his "Winterschlacht im Osten" medal, although a great number of them was made and awarded.
Could someone please upload a photo of someone who's actually wearing the medal because so far I've only seen photos of guys with ribbons on their uniforms and not the actual medal.
Is this due to the fact that displaying the winterschlacht was some sort of disgrace?

    Cheers

Just to reply to your post ... The Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 actually was a high respected award among the soldiers. The EK II was worn in full award in the chest area on the day of the actual award and/ or for a studioportrait. You'll see the Ostmedaille sometimes worn in studioportraits also.
