    Six pioneer companies. I want information

    Six pioneer companies assembled it (1., 2. and 3./Pi.Btl.45, 2. and 3./Pi.Btl.31 and 3./Pi.Btl.2). I want find every uniforme document or equipement, please fint me items of you collection and post photo because i write a book, thanks all

        Paul velke was obersleutnant der pionnier bataillon 45, Oberstleutnant Paul Velke 1938 - gefallen als Oberst am 28.7.1942 bei einer Erkundung zum Übergang über den Don als Kommandeur des Pionier-Regiment 642.

                      What you're asking is almost like looking for a needle in a haystack.

                      For details of officers, get in touch with member MJC, he might be able to find their personnel files.


                      You might also like to write your requests in both English and French, it might be easier for some of us to understand.
                      Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

                            From page 491 of my book "Island of Fire" (http://www.leapinghorseman.com.au/pr...7510764X&cat=5).

                            The bridge over the Loire was 375 metres long, had a capacity of 16 tonnes and took only 22 hours to erect on 22-23 June 1940 with 14 bridging columns and 6 pioneer companies (1., 2. and 3./Pi.Btl.45, 2. and 3./Pi.Btl.31 and 3./Pi.Btl.2).

                              Here's a photo of Paul Velke. From page 491 of my book:

                              Oberstleutnant Paul Velke was awarded the Knight's Cross for his leadership of the battalion [Pi.Btl.45] during the French Campaign.
